Security reports

Publicly disclosing a vulnerability can put the entire TAQTIQA community at risk. If you’ve discovered a security concern, please email us at [email protected]. We’ll work with you to make sure that we understand the scope of the issue, and that we fully address your concern. We consider correspondence sent to [email protected] our highest priority, and work to address any issues that arise as quickly as possible.

Please act in good faith towards other users’ privacy and data during your disclosure. We won’t take legal action against you or administrative action against your account if you act accordingly: White hat security researchers are always appreciated.

Physical Security

Physical data center security is described on the Amazon Web Services Security page.

System Security

Operating systems use hardened, patched OS. Dedicated firewall and entitlement services help block unauthorized system access Serices security is descibed in Amazon Web Services: Overview of Security Processes

Operational Security

Systems access is logged and tracked for auditing purposes Fully automated sytem deployment and configuration change-management.

Software Security

We employ Amazon Web Service’s system monitoring, to keep abreat of system and software issues. We use fully automated deployment and configuration scripts to ensure our software and dependencies are up to date eliminating potential security vulnerabilities.

Communications

All private data exchanged with TAQTIQA is always transmitted over SSL (which is why your dashboard is served over HTTPS, for instance). All pushing and pulling of data is done over SSL authenticated with encoded authentication data/tokens.

File system and backups

Filesystem and backups use the Amazon Web service’s S3 file storage service. This delivers 99.999999999% durability and 99.99% availability of objects over a given year. Additional details are on the Amazon Web Services’ S3 page.

We do not encrypt data on disk because it would not be any more secure: the website and AWS-S3 back-end would need to decrypt the files on demand, slowing down response times. Therefore, we focus on making our machines and network as secure as possible.

Employee access

No TAQTIQA employees ever access private data unless required to for support reasons. Support staff may log into your account to access settings related to your support issue. This will only be done with your consent. Support staff do not have direct access to any user data, you will need to temporarily create an access token in your account to give our support Staff access.

When working a support issue we do our best to respect your privacy as much as possible, we only access the files and settings needed to resolve your issue.

Maintaining security

We protect your access token from brute force attacks with rate limiting. All access toekns are filtered from all our logs and encrypted. Login information is always sent over SSL.

We always test new features in order to cut out potential attacks.

We’re extremely concerned and proactive about security, but we’re aware that many companies are not comfortable hosting datasets outside their firewall. For these companies we enable them to launch TIQA plants as part of their Virtual Private Cloud, connected via a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection between their corporate datacenter and their VPC.

Credit card safety

When you sign up for a paid account on TAQTIQA, we do not store any of your card information on any our servers. It’s handed off to a company dedicated to storing sensitive data on PCI-Compliant servers.
